Satturday 21St    rain all last night Slowley    a Cloudy morning    some rain    river raised last night 12 Inches    at three oClock a Cannon was herd up the <name type="place" key="Missouri River">Missouris</name>, Soon after <name type="person" key="Chouteau, Jean Pierre">Mr. Choteau</name> arrived with 22 Indians, we Saluted them and after Staying one [h]Our, <name type="person" key="Lewis, Meriwether">Cap Lewis</name> &amp; myself Set out with them to <name type="place" key="Saint Louis, Mo.">St Louis</name>, where we arrived before night.<ref target="n03042101" n="1"/>
