a fine day    I put out all the goods & Parch meal Clothing &c to Sun, a number of Indians here to day    They make maney remarks respecting our goods &c.    Set Some men about Hulling Corn &c. [1]

 

Friday 15th March 1805.    clear pleasant and warm.    all the Indian Goods put out to air. Some men employed Shelling corn.

1. Perhaps they were stripping the husks from the ears, more commonly called "shucking," but more likely they were removing the outer skin of the kernels. (back)
